New Visions for Public Schools

Humanities II

THE OPPORTUNITY.

The New Visions HUM II Team desired to prepare their students for today’s world of work. We provided introductory career development workshops which taught students to identify their strengths, emerging talents, and learn how to apply for jobs.

Our Support

our approach

We understand it can be challenging for high school students to step into the workforce with little to no job experience, as well as feel confident when doing so.

Career Workshops

⬩”Resume & Cover letter fundamentals”

⬩”Decoding job applications”

⬩”Preparing for an interview”

⬩”Interview with confidence”

⬩All workshops were aligned to the New York State learning standards for Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS credit eligible)

STRENGTHS-BASED RESUMES

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS HAVE A TOUGH TIME WHEN ATTEMPTING TO NARRATE THEIR EARLY CAREER EXPERIENCES. WE HELPED STUDENTS TO IDENTIFY THEIR UNIQUE TALENTS, SKILLS, AND CAREER-RELATED ACTIVITIES.
